Introduce yourselves and your band Creature
My name is Tom. I play bass and do back up vocals. We also have Ian on
the drums and Steve as our singer and manager of Riff City.

How would you guys describe yourselves to someone who has never
heard Creature?
We are the bastard child of the Misfits and Bad Religion with more
"whoas" then a Keanu Reeves movie.

What are some of your accomplishments as a band that might interest
people and not make them gauge their eyeballs out with a spoon due to
boredom?
We played a local restaurant and cleared the entire room out in under
30 seconds.

Besides Creature, what other current Syracuse bands are worth checking
out?
Earth Crisis. I here they are going to be huge so keep an eye out for
them. Also, Another Breath, Merrimac, Life of Crime, Red & Black and
Election Day

What are your favorite and least favorite venues & what is it about them
that makes them such?
Least favorite would have to be 118 Trinity cause of the low ceilings
and crazed crack heads behind every corner. Favorite would have to be
The Furnace because of the sweet air hockey table.

Who writes the lyrics to your songs? Do you get the lyrics straight out
of your head or do you watch horror movies and write the lyrics based
upon a character?
I (Tom) wrote all the lyrics except Vampire Bears which was written by
Ian. Usually I just watch a random horror movie and write things as
they come to me based upon the plot of the movie. If you read the lyrics
and check my myspace page for favorite movies you can figure out what is
what.

Since we're certainly boisterous sinners amongst men, what is your
favorite form of unadulterated hedonistic debauchery: booze, broads, or
billiards? And the reason being?
Ian and I will drink constantly until we sound good. Steves only real
vice would probably be no limit Texas Hold-em

I've been told (more often than I care to admit) that I'm uglier,
meaner, and nastier than a one-eyed, runt-tailed rattlesnake. So which one
of those unflattering and dishonorable traits (ugly, mean, or nasty)
adequately describes you, and why
We are ugly, hairy men. We are vampire bears.

Any naughty, tabloid-style VH1 Behind The Music moments you'd like to
boastfully divulge? Crazed groupie encounters, vomit-saturated drunken
orgies, decadent near-fatal drug consumption, taboo sexual liaisons with
the family pet, midget-tossin' fist-flyin' bickering amongst the band
members, etc.? Intoxicated inquiring minds want to know.
One time we were on tour with The Goulashes and we all had to stay in a
super small living room in Texas. Both bands had to cram together and
more or less had to spoon in order to find any sleeping room. Ian had to
sleep next to Cutter, singer for The Goulashes, and Cutter was behind
Ian. Cutter was always talkin about all the chicks he’s banged and
hooked up with and whatnot, always talkin up a big pile of lies. It was rad.
Ian was passed out and Cutter was sleepin behind Ian all close and
such. I was sleepin a few bodies over and I heard Ian all confused and
disoriented. Apparently, Cutter had put his hand up the shirt of Ian and
when Ian woke up Cutter was caressing his chest and said "shh shh, its
ok." seriously, love that, best ever.

What song would you want to be played at your funeral - what
encapsulates you?
Of our songs, I think any of them would be just weird and make no sense
unless one day the dead do in fact rise.

What's the most bizarre or ironic thing that's happened to Creature?
Ummm I got nothing. Sorry

Fill in blank. Hard work and determination get you what?
Laid

What was the first record you heard that made you say, “I’m gonna be in
a punk rock band”?
First record that made me want to be in a punk rock band would be Peace
Thru Vandalism by The Vandals. The band that influenced us most to
start this style of punk rock would be Blitzkid. That band is amazing.

Favorite Horror movie?
The original Dawn of the Dead for all the same reasons everyone else
loves it. Zombies, slapstick comedy and social significance. It has it
all

Most disturbing horror movie character?
Gingerdead Man because it’s a possessed gingerbread man who kills people
with the voice of Gary Busey. duh

What was the last thing that you heard that came out of someone's mouth
and you had no idea what they were talking about?
Huh, what? I am confused all the time by everything people say to me.

What's the dirtiest, most disgusting place you've ever stayed at?
It wasn't with this band but there was this house in TN where we drove
all night and showed up at like 9 in the morning and there were people
just passed out all over the house lying in piles of beer bottles and
unknown fluids. Never the less I just found a corner and went to sleep.

What do you think it is about Punk Rock Review that makes people
dislike it so much?
There are other people who hate Punk Rock Review? I thought I was
original.

What did you eat for dinner last night (question provided from Italian
Band, The Popsters)?
Tofu sandwich on rye with lettuce, tomato, and avacado from Strong
Hearts Cafe in Syracuse, NY. If you are in Syracuse go to Strong Hearts!

What is a good question I can ask the next band I have an interview
with?
What do you feel ultimately led to the demise of the Soviet Union?

Closing Comments?
I want to give a mad shout out to Sworn Enemy for keeping it as real as
it gets.
